Friday, May 19, 2006 marked a "red-letter day" of sorts for Dan and me. It was the day the results of the February bar exam were released. Unfortunately, for the second time, Dan's name wasn't on the pass list.
There have been few things in our life together for which we have prayed more fervently, or for which Daniel had worked so diligently. Nevertheless, God saw fit to answer our prayers in a way only He understands, and to reward Dan's diligence with the opportunity to exercise it further. *smile*
We're not resentful, just a bit disheartened. Our hopes were definitely high this time. It would be so easy to question God's wisdom, when so many things seemed to be hinging on those results, including our ability to move forward with all the things a young couple dreams about: home ownership, "putting down roots", starting a family.
But it was not to be . . . not yet anyway. It looks like we're taking a crash course on trust and faith for the next few months. :)
My dear husband, ever the optimist, will be back in the saddle on July 25th for the third go-round. In the meantime, we're resting, albeit a bit uncomfortably at times :), in the "holding pattern" so sure to refine us and chase us straight to God.

Dan, it took me three times to pass my drivers' exam, if it is encouraging at all to hear.
And I have never had a ticket.
I will be in prayer for you on the new date in July. Rest in Him. If our time and plan was God's, what would be the purpose of faith?
Hang in there guys! I'm sorry about the news but I know we serve a loving God and He will take care of you. And, in the end, you will look back on life and see His hand of mercy upon you the entire way.
